The Bahraini Journalists Association was established in the Kingdom of Bahrain under the Societies, Social and Cultural Clubs, Special Foundations working in the Field of Youth and Sports and Special Institutions Law issued by the Law by Decree No. (21) for the year 1989.
The Association was registered in accordance to the Ministerial Order No. (5) for the year 1991 pertaining to regulating the record of societies and cultural and Art Clubs that are under the supervision of the Ministry of Information.
BJA’s headquarter is in the Bahraini capital of Manama, and can establish branches in the various cities of Bahrain.
The Association’s term is undefined and starts as of the publication of its registry in the Official Gazette.
The Association is legally represented by the Chairman of the Board of Directors, or his deputy according to a decision taken by the Board.
Arabic is the Association’s official language, but attendees, researchers and members can use any foreign language.
